Responsibility of Borrowers
- Borrowers are responsible for returning materials on time and in good condition. As a courtesy, overdue notices will be sent to students via Scorpion Mail accounts.
- Library materials should be returned to a staff member at the Circulation & Reserves Desk located on the first floor of the Arnulfo L. Oliveira Memorial Library, or they can be dropped in the book drop located at the entrance of the library or through the book depository located outside of the library building.
- Borrowers will be charged a $15.00 fee for each badly damaged item needing repairs. A full-time library staff member will determine the extent of an item's damage. Damage can include, but is not limited to, water damage, stains, writing or highlighting, burns, missing pages, broken spine, or scratches.
- When materials are overdue/lost and/or fines are not paid, Students will be barred from borrowing additional library materials, and a hold will be placed on the student's Admissions account. This blocks registration and the release of transcripts.
- Books not housed in the New Library but part of the Oliveira Library closed stacks collection may be checked out upon request at the New Library circulation desk. Books will be available within 24 hours at the New Library.
- Materials not available from both libraries can be requested through Inter-Library Loan Service.

- A copy of the annual membership form and/or the solid brass key chain with your personal membership number is required.

TexShare is a statewide library resource-sharing program. The TexShare Card Program allows students and faculty from one library to borrow library materials at other participating libraries. How to Get a TexShare Card
Students
- Students may pick up their TexShare card at the Circulation & Reserves Desk during normal business hours.
- Students must present their current UTB/TSC STING CARD.
- Students must be currently enrolled.
- Have no overdue book(s).
- Clear all outstanding fines or fees.
- A TexShare Card does not grant off-campus access to our electronic databases and journals or Interlibrary Loan Services.
Faculty
- Faculty may pick up their TexShare card at the Circulation & Reserves Desk during normal business hours
- Faculty members must present their current UTB/TSC STING CARD.
- A TexShare Card does not grant off-campus access to our electronic databases and journals or Interlibrary Loan Services.
Distance Learners
- Students enrolled in a UTB/TSC credit distance education course are eligible for a TexShare card. Proof of enrollment is required.

- Library materials should be returned to a staff member at the Circulation & Reserves Desk located at the entrance of the library, or they can be dropped in the book drop located at the entrance of the library or through the book depository located outside of the library or by first class, insured mail within the loan period prescribed by the library.
- Return materials immediately in person or by a form of priority mail if recalled by the lending library.
- Pay fines or any other charges assessed by the library.

- TexShare cardholders will be barred from borrowing additional library materials, and their home institution will be notified, when materials are overdue and/or fines are not paid.
- Surrender the TexShare Card to TexShare library staff if requested.
- Books not housed in the New Library but part of the Oliveira Library closed stacks collection may be checked out upon request at the New Library circulation desk. Books will be available within 24 hours at the New Library.
