Accessing Electronic Resources
Students currently enrolled in courses at The University of Texas at Brownsville can access the Library's electronic
databases and journals from off-campus. Off-campus users will be prompted to login with their MyUTBTSC username and password, the same confidentials as using for ScorpionOnline,
to verify that they are affiliated with UTB/TSC. If you can't login, you can CLICK HERE FOR

Can't login? Please contact the Reference Desk at (956) 882-7205. The Reference Desk is staffed on Mon - Thu 7:30am - 10pm, Fri 7:30am - 5pm,
Sat 9am - 5pm, and Sun 1pm - 10pm CST.
Getting Research Assistance
Distance learners are encouraged to contact the Reference Department for research assistance at (956) 882-7205. Questions can also be submitted electronically
via email at library@utb.edu. Students can also chat live with a librarian using the Ask a UT Librarian chat service.
Chat hours are: Monday - Thursday 12pm to 6pm and Friday 12pm to 4pm CST.
Borrowing Books
Interlibrary Loan Services: Students currently enrolled in distance education courses at the University of Texas at Brownsville can request delivery of materials not available online.
Please submit an Interlibrary Loan Request for books or other materials you are unable to get online. Article copies and books will be shipped via
mail. The cost of return postage for mailing books back to the library will be assumed by the requesting student. Students should expect to wait 7-15 days for materials to arrive. For more information, please contact the
Interlibrary Loan Office.
TexShare Card Program: Distance learners may also be able to borrow materials from other university libraries in their area through the TexShare Card Program. This program
entitles borrowers affiliated with other academic or public libraries to borrow materials from participating libraries using their TexShare Card. Visit the TexShare Web Site to see a list of participating libraries, .
Students that are currently enrolled in UTB/TSC courses can be issued a TexShare Card to be used to borrow materials from other libraries.
